Where is my money?

Do You Know Where Your Money Is?

“Don’t tell me where your priorities are. Show me where you spend your money and I’ll tell you what they are.” - James W. Frick

Many times, I have asked myself this question. You may have asked this question if you have a spouse or a significant other. I asked my husband where our money was going. Unfortunately, I can't ask my husband that question anymore or even have his assistance regarding money. Why, may you ask?

I want you to imagine having most of your finances in order except for a few things. But you thought you had time, so you procrastinated. Then, a tragedy struck your family, leaving your finances in a big mess and you unable to escape it. How would you feel? All you had to do was answer a few more questions to prevent this from happening, because it happened to me. This is why I want to help people get their financial house in order.

My husband died suddenly four years ago on his driving to work. Yes, I said on his driving. He had a major heart attack and died instantly, leaving me to figure everything out. He had normal group health, group life insurance, and even personal life insurance outside his job. I'm very glad about that. Otherwise, I could have been homeless and carless.

On top of all that, who would have guessed a global pandemic and everything across the globe shut down? Who knew?

What we didn't complete was estate planning. No Will of Testament, no durable power of attorney and other things. All we had to do was ask for assistance to complete it; like most people, we procrastinated.

Do you know where your money is?

Before you can do anything, you must assess where you are currently in your finances.

  • List your assets

  • List your debts

  • List your expenses

  • List your life insurance

Once you have the information, you will understand where you are and determine the gaps you must fill to fulfill your obligations to your family.

Don't wait until a tragedy hits; be prepared before it happens.

You don't have to do this alone; schedule an appointment with me, and let's talk. If not me, find someone who is an expert in finances, like me, to assist you.
